Advent of Change
We are immensely proud to announce that CL4Women is supporting Advent of Change, a revolutionary charity advent calendar, inviting people to give, rather than receive as they countdown to Christmas.
This social enterprise, which was born just over eighteen months ago, has also caught the attention of the John Lewis Partnership, who will be stocking the calendar in John Lewis & Waitrose stores throughout the country and online.
So, what’s the idea? Each door reveals a different donation to a charity, spread across a wide variety of causes, including social mobility, healthcare and the environment. A huge majority of the sale price will go directly to charity.
Each day represents a donation and describes how that gift could be used to give you a clear understanding of where your money is going and to see how your money can help change the world for the better, from feeding the homeless to protecting our oceans.
Advent of Change is the brainchild of Kristina Salceanu. We wish her the very best of luck and will continue to support her on her journey.
The Nottingham Women's Centre – Angel Row
Nottingham Women’s Centre is run by women, for women. We exist to help women to achieve their aims, become stronger and more independent, and we provide a safe and supportive environment in which women can do this.
We help women build self confidence and independence by enabling them to address and resolve issues in their lives. We run a regular programme of training courses and other support services from within the Centre, making us a ‘one-stop shop’ for women in Nottingham. Our services are available to all women, without exclusion.
Nottingham Women’s Centre is also host to two local women’s organisations – Women’s Aid Integrated Services and Nottingham Rape Crisis Centre. We work closely with other women’s organisations and listen to the needs of local women when shaping our services.
Our current business plan sets out our priority objectives for 2016-19.
